Frozen February Fun

Join one of three challenges: Kids (ages 0-11), Teens (ages 12-18), Adults (ages 19+)

  • Register on Beanstack HERE starting on Monday, February 1st or pick up a paper recording sheet from the Grab & Go cart in the back hallway of the library.
  • Participate by reading, completing activities or both.
  • Each reading goal and activity (for all ages) earns you chances to win a gift basket. Plus, Kids who read 100 Stories* will earn a free book and t-shirt and Teens who read 400 minutes will also earn a free book.

*Kids who are reading early chapter and chapter books can count each 20 pages read as 1 book or story.

Paper recording sheets will be due back to the library no later than March 5. They can be returned to the Grab & Go Cart in the back hallway of the library.

Prize drawings will be held Monday, March 8. Winners will be contacted via phone or email.

Youth & Family Programs (ages are recommendations)


Facebook Live Storytime with  Ms. Caroline (ages 0-5)

Fridays at 10:00 a.m.
Access on our Facebook account (no need to have an account to watch) or view later on Ellsworth Public Library’s YouTube account.
Listen to stories, sing, play, and interact virtually with Ms. Caroline. Pick up story kits each month that contain activities to go with story times. Story time kits and misc. Grab and go bags can be found on the Grab and Go cart in the back hallway of the building.

Virtual PJ Storytime on Zoom (ages 0-10) Second Tuesdays of the month at 6:30 p.m. Registration required HERE or call the library. 

Tween/Teen Events

Virtual Teen Talent Show – Zoom Event (ages 12-18)

Join us for a fun filled evening of talent, creativity, art, sharing and fun in celebration of Youth Art Month. For this month’s event we want you to share your talents, creativity or something you love to do. Sing, dance, read a favorite poem or one you’ve written yourself, play an instrument, juggle, recite your ABCs backwards… there are as many talents as there are people and we want to see yours! Submit a video or come prepared to share with us live! We’ll play games and do activities after our talent share. Hosted by Ellsworth , Augusta, and Amery Public Libraries.

Grab bags available at participating libraries while supplies last.

Galentine’s Day Party (ages 18+)

Grab your gal pals and join us for this free virtual event intended for ladies 18 years and up. We will enjoy an afternoon of crafting and conversation, along with a cooking demo, makeup demo and essential oils class. The first several participants who register at each library will be eligible to pick-up a free swag bag at participating libraries, while supplies last. Event coordinated by Amery, Augusta and Ellsworth Libraries.

Zoom Adult Trivia Night

Join us for a night of trivia fun. Gather together to test your wits or just to be challenged and learn something new. Play by challenging yourself or with people in your household. Adults and their favorite teens could have fun playing together, too. Hosted by Ellsworth, Augusta and Amery Libraries.

March 1 – Garden Planning 101 (with Brandon Wiarda of Sleepy Root Farm)
Learn how to make a smart garden plan for the year to translate your gardening dreams into reality. Topics include figuring out how much to grow, how to time your plantings to get produce all season, and more.

March 8 – Seeds
Learn about seed selection, starting seeds indoors, testing seeds for germination, storing seeds and direct sowing

March 15 – Soil and Fertilizer
Learn about taking soil tests and deciphering the results to determine the fertilizer needs of your houseplants, lawn, flower beds, and vegetable gardens

March 22 – Alternative Gardening
Learn about alternative gardening methods: straw bale, lasagna, companion planting, and raised beds

March 29 – Weed Control
Learn about organic and inorganic methods to eliminate or at least decrease the weeds in your garden beds

April 5th: Kitchen and Herb gardens

April 12th: Money Saving Gardening Tips for Money Smart Week

April 19th: CSA Farming
